CABS-Minnesota has announced the dates for this year’s Antiquarian Book Seminar. The seminar is virtual this year; taking place August 15 to August 20, 2021. Learn More About CABS-Minnesota.
In honor of long-time member Florence Shay (1922-2012), the Midwest Chapter of the ABAA is offering a $500 educational scholarship to participate in CABS-Minnesota. The scholarship covers full tuition for one attendee to this year’s seminar. This scholarship is offered to booksellers who are from the Midwest Chapter region, which includes the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
2021 CABS-Minnesota Scholarship Applicants should provide the following:
- A completed copy of the application form. (download below)
- A personal statement or essay (no longer than two pages) in which you describe your past or current experience in the world of antiquarian books, your goals for the future, and what you hope to gain from the studies afforded by this scholarship. If you have attended an antiquarian book fair in the past, please offer an observation or impression gained from that experience.
- Letter of support written by a professional bookseller or rare book librarian.
All applications must be received by midnight, May 15, 2021. The winning applicant will be notified of the award decision via email on May 18, 2021.
